The Human Hair Rig
I tied a rig using old school human hair for the hair. Surprisingly good results. Why did we switch to the knotless knot?? convenience?

<2>Finally mastered night videoing. This should prove to be very revealing when I get stuck into it in November. look out for some cool videos here.
Just a little video showing the underwater mechanics of this rig.
Here, I use a classic approach. PVA bag and bright coloured popup. This approach has worked for me and countless other anglers time and time again. However, on this occasion it fails […]
Here, I chuck out a simple braid bottom bait rig. With the intention of presenting it perfectly. However, it ends up presenting like a birds nest. But it still ends up catching a […]
This follows on from my video “PVA bag and popup”. Everything is the same except I use a bottom bait. See the results of this experiment.
Here I use a plain 11mm trout pellet as the hook bait to match the 2mm trout pellets I am using as ground bait, to good effect.
Who needs boilies, when you can pull a Blackberry of a bush and catch Carp with that instead!
Watch, as one fish spooks off the bait and rig. Then the next fish is fooled by the exact same presentation.
Had to re-publish this one due to sound problems. For those who have not seen it before, I tied the worst I could and then videoed it. I thought that […]
Notice how the Perch’s dorsal fin is raised during the take when it needs control and lowered for speed.
Here a Coot steals the boilie 10 minns before the carp would have taken it. Beware of the coot menace. You have been warned.
Underwater video of carp a carp rig up close. Here a really murky “commercial lake” is chosen for the test. A snowman rig is cast out into 4 feet of […]
Underwater video of carp and ducks. The Carp don’t seem to react at all to the darting presence of the birds. I guess they are just used to them.
Here (as requested) is the chod rig. It is a bit “in yer face” and you can see some fish spook away from it. However, I can see why people […]
Here we can see the results of the first days baiting, and the results are stunning. Most of the weed has gone. Also, notice how that fish tries to feed […]
Here we can see the results of the subsequent baitings. I stopped baiting the spot after the 3rd application. This proves that the fishing theory works, but different weed densities […]
On weedy lakes some anglers say if you Bait a spot with plenty of small particles. Fish will tear up the weed to get at the particles and this results […]
So I made the boilie smaller (12mm) and, you guessed it. Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep
A homemade 30mm boilie is cast out to the fish, but it is too big to catch them. Size can be important!!!
Watch as I spook the feeding carp fish, and how soon they return. I see this with fish that are actively feeding, but not fish that cruising around.

Here, I have got everything right, but don’t catch the fish. I believe this is due to the hook being blunt. Not blunt in the sense that it wont dig […]
What does this fish think it’s doing? This was caught by one of my surveillance cameras. Never seen anything like it before,
Whatch as the glug and the PVA bag float to the surface. I think oil based glugs are a mistake here
The fish were continually spooking off my rig. I thought they might be spooking off the hooklink (braid). So I recast, this time though I staightened out the hooklink by […]
Someone asked if I could video this, and I am glad I did. It is noticeable how often the carp spook off this setup, as their barbules touch the lead […]
Here the PVA bag is hooked onto the end of the rig. The camera appears to show that this draws the fish directly onto the hookbait only. and not onto […]
By popular demand. The naked chod rig for carp fishing and how it settles in weed.
Here is the classic corkball popup. Love the way it flies up.
Here is the classic Snowman rig. Don’t use em myself but there is something to be said for the technique as you can see here.
Here I poke a camera into some snags hoping to catch a glimpse of the carp before they spook off. However, they don’t spook. They just swim in front of […]
Here I catch a carp using a McDonalds chip as the hookbait. just to show that you don’t need ultra sophisticated baits to catch fish. Although, you will catch more […]
Here we have a larger, brighter patch of bait. Watch how more spooky the fish around this more obvious bait patch. I only see this where the fish are actively […]
Watch, as the carp keeps attacking the different shaped boilie. He will eat the round ones, but he wants the sausage one. This shows similar results as my other video […]
